I can get behind this proposal. The only thing I'd like to see added is 
a clause specifically _prohibiting_ any names that are in any way, 
shape, or form connected to the names 'Compiz-Extra' and 'Beryl'. This 
would disallow another "gem name" or any of the hideous combinations of 
"Compiz-Extra" and "Beryl" (read: Coral, et al.).

Frankly, we need to be moving _forward_ and stop clinging to the past 
via names.
