Well, I think that first of all is crazy to say that a name or an entire
kind of names should be forbidden. Just crazy not to say something
worst. It is a free project. So this is enough. I'm really reading
astonishing things lately...

I think that Jeff resumed everything I'm writing about just now in the
ML. I didn't read this mail yet but I wrote very similar things. But I
have something to add about it.

The Logo and branding Idea has to be presented in a written manner or in
a sketched one. With any program, even scanned. This way we won't have a
first category of time-loosers in our Name research.

Second. I've read in the Forum a lot of people saying that we have to
decide the name soon because they can't wait for a release. This is
really bad in my opinion, a scandal. But we had to expect it. A lot of
people voted for Coral because it was winning! Not because they liked
it. This means that since they wanted at all costs a quick release, they
voted for the favorite one. This probably means that after 2 days no
other name had a chance of winning. In a democracy things does not work
like this.

What I suggest is that someone should release a development release of
this compcomm packages and compiz-git, so that all of this people in a
hurry will be settled down. At this point we'll be able to work a real
name with no restriction and, most of all, with no damned time looser
inside the contest.

Everyone willing for a quick name will be thrown away from the contest,
they were never interested in this, so, having they're unstable release
already, they will not care participating and voting just for a quick
name to be chosen. I think this would be a crucial part of the name poll
research.

And we need to propose names like Feff proposed. With a name, a logo, an
explenation, a meaning and everything else. If we want to create
something professional than be it. But we need to work ONLY with people
interested in the name and in the logo. And I think that releasing a
compom third party in some repos will create a natural selection of
those who are interested and of those who are not.

What do you think about it?
