[Compcomm] Deciding a name

OK, here is my revised proposal for a name selection process:

- Create a Nominating Committee of 3-5 members who will have the
responsibility of compiling the list of the qualified names. Onestone has
agreed to serve on this committee. RYX and Kristian have expressed interest
in this process and I'd like to invite them to serve as well. It would be
good to have some more volunteers who are able to keep an open mind.

- The Nominating Committee will accept nominations for up to 10 names. The
nominating period will be for 5 days or until 5 names have been qualified and
endorsed by the Nominating Committee. It will take a majority vote of the
Nominating Committee to endorse a name.

- We will start a new thread on this mailing list and another on the
opencompositing.org forum for people to propose names. Each submitted name
*must* have the following information to be considered by the Nominating
Committee:
 	- Name
 	- Available domain names
 	- At least one logo idea. This can be a written idea.
 	- Perform a web search and list the top 3 conflicts, if any.
 	- A brief description of what the name means and why we should use it.
 	- A brief description of any known negative connotations or meanings.

- Once the Nominating Committee has 5-10 qualified names, there will be a poll
of the 10 names which will last 3 days. The winner must have *majority* of
all votes to win. If no choice receives a majority, then the bottom 6 choices
will be dropped, and we'll conduct another 3 day poll. If no choice receives
a majority in the 2nd poll, then the bottom 2 choices will be dropped and the
last 2 choices will make it to the final 3 day poll. If there are less than 10
names nominated, the bottom 50% would be dropped in each poll.

- The polling threads will be locked but discussion will be allowed on other
threads throughout the process.

If this is acceptable, tomorrow I'll draft an official announcement for our
forums and websites so that everyone is included in the process.

Jeff
