[Compcomm] My ideas (for the record)

If the subdomains idea is the one we use, and
personally, I think it is a fantastic idea, we could
even, I suppose, call it compcomm.compiz.org for now. 
We could create a front page with a "we need a name
announcement," create some temporary artwork, with,
say, a big tacky question mark image in place of an
icon.

A newsfeed could be added to compiz.org, linking to
compcomm.compiz.org and explaining the need for a
name.  The new, organized name poll could take place
in forum(s).compiz.org.  With all of the
organizational details taken care of _ahead of time_
then there would be no confusion about what people are
voting for.  Additionally, there would be fewer issues
with prior trademarks, and there would be no issues
with finding domain names for any name idea.  

Plus, with some major organizational changes to the
web site, "average user" will be excited about
compositing again, and be inspired to generate some
great name ideas and artwork.

(What I am suggesting is that, if this particular
solution is agreed upon, the name poll be postponed
until the organizational changes are made, so that the
buzz is back at the right time).  Changing the
subdomain name after the poll's results should be
trivial, right?
