I'm pretty sure we've clarified this time and time again. In general
it is to help create a full composite desktop. A large part of this is
creation of a large set of plugins for Compiz. In addition to this we
have things like creation of the configuration system. Also we want to
work with other projects to make this more feasible, like mine and
Dennises recent patches to Nautilus and KDesktop to draw a transparent
desktop and allow Compiz to paint the actual background.
