As a user I have to agree. Also it's easier to memorise. And less confusing.
You guys are developers - but the users don't care for "compositing", they
don't even know what it is, how should they relate to "opencompositing".

I can literally see Joe Public: "Cool effects. Where can I get that? ...
openWHAT?? No no that sounds like complicated geek-stuff, leave me alone
with that."
Or: "Cool effects. Where can I get that? ... compiz.org? Cool!"
At least this is how I felt when I read oc.org for the first time. Even
rock3d would be more appealing to endusers.
