The XMail Mail Server

XMail is a full featured, multi-platform mail delivery system providing SMTP, pop3, and finger servers. XMail uses a simple, yet powerful, command interface and gives you the ability to connect filters, scripts, and GUI interfaces. Using the built in hooks you can attach spam filters, virus filters, authentication modules and perform relaying and pop3 account synchronization. XMail provides virtual servers allowing you to serve multiple domains without giving users system accounts. It's licensed under the GPL and is available for Linux, OpenBSD, NetBSD, FreeBSD, Solaris, OSX, and Windows NT, 2000, and XP. Created and maintained by Davide Libenzi, XMail is a powerful, versatile, and reliable mail delivery solution.

XMail 1.22 was released today. This release patches a critical buffer overflow in XMail's sendmail replacement binary. This overflow is present in all versions of XMail prior to 1.22. Since this binary runs as root in the default configuration this is a serious vulnerability and you should upgrade to 1.22 ASAP.
